Discover Dominica Authority participated in the Diving Equipment and Marketing Association (DEMA) Show with partners Fort Young Hotel and Nature Island Dive to promote the destination’s aqua product offerings. DEMA’s 2022 Show was held in Orlando, Florida from November 1-4, 2022. The interest in Dominica was strong, and with the news of direct flights from Miami, interest was elevated for group travel.
Many DEMA attendees who had been to Dominica pre-COVID-19 met with the Dominican delegation resulting in leads for group travel in 2023 and 2024, with group sizing ranging from 12 to 40 people. Approximately 45 meetings were held with invitations to go out through direct email campaigns.
In 2023, Dominica will seek to actively revisit the family initiative partnership with Innovative Scuba Concepts. Additionally, DEMA’s 2023 Show is anticipated to be even busier due its venue in New Orleans. Space for DEMA 2023 has been secured with collaboration with Barbados, St Kitts, Trinidad and St. Lucia.
