In November 2022, Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) hosted a press trip with Heliconia, a Canadian-based video production company which specializes in adventure travel. The production crew focused on Dominica’s newly conceptualized Waitukubuli Sea Trail.
The Heliconia team, both on ground and behind the scenes, focused on sharing the special moments and experiences through social media while on location. Sharing behind the scenes content creates a special attachment to the project and makes the audience feel like they are part of the process. Following the Heliconia crew’s amazing time in Dominica for the filming of Facing Waves, a total of 173,624 people were reached, over 180,000 impressions, more than 4,500 people engaged with the content, over 3,600 likes and 91 comments were made.
