Dominica was highlighted on the CHCH TV Morning Show in Ontario, Canada on September 16, 2022. Kimberly King, Discover Dominica Authority’s Destination Marketing Manager, relayed to the show’s audience just what makes the island the perfect winter destination for Canadians seeking warmer weather vacations.
Dominica is excellent for nature lovers and adventure seekers and recently copped Travel + Leisure‘s award for best Caribbean island. Dominica’s hard and soft adventure activities like the Waitukubuli National Trail, the Indian River (where parts of Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean movie were filmed), year-round whale watching, and our scenic waterfalls were promoted on the live 5-minute segment.
Dominica’s newest luxury eco-resort with Canadian connections, Coulibri Ridge, was also promoted. The sustainable eco-resort, located on a ridge south of the island, powers and serves the entire property using solar energy and rain water.
Access to the island was featured with American Airlines’ daily flight from Miami along with other possible connections via the hubs of Antigua, St. Lucia, and Barbados.
The show was replayed later that day providing Dominica with 10 total minutes of international airtime. CHCH TV, located in Hamilton, Ontario is viewed by millions weekly and is available to over 92% of Ontario households.
