“October is great for . . . celebrating the Caribbean’s musical heritage.” This is the headline for Dominica’s feature in AFAR magazine’s “10 Best Places to Travel in October” in which Dominica’s World Creole Music Festival is highlighted. The festival will attract over 10,000 lovers of Dominica’s bouyon, jing ping, cadence-lypso music and popular world genres, who can also enjoy the island’s local rum bois bande, natural attractions and comfortable accommodations. American Airlines’ direct flight from Miami, which began last December, has motivated more travel from the US. The three-night event is scheduled for October 28-30, 2022, after a two-year COVID-induced absence.
