Staycation is an annual initiative of the Discover Dominica Authority for the past twelve consecutive years. Its main purpose is to increase domestic tourism numbers at properties and attractions through discounted rates during the summer down-time of June to August. Staycation provides get-away island experiences for locals while bonding with friends and family. Properties also receive the opportunity to fill empty rooms and provide various tours.
As part of Dominica’s Year of Health and Wellness, the 2022 staycation campaign will extend to December 2022 as some hotels promote their wellness amenites. This year, the event is open exclusively to stakeholders certified under the Nature Island Standards of Excellence (NISE) program.
