Dominica was represented at GTM (Global Travel Market Place) from June 1 – 3, 2023. Discover Dominica Authority’s representative conducted 50 one-on-one meetings with pre-qualified travel advisors. The interest in Dominica was very high as advisors looked for new Caribbean destinations offering something off the beaten track. Dominica’s key selling points and messaging that resonated with the audience were:
- The destination you are looking for when your clients have been everywhere else in the Caribbean.
- The new Costa Rica but more accessible.
- A fabulous dive destination, and the only country in the world where sperm whales can be found year-round.
The number one question from 90% of the meetings was whether Dominica has all-inclusive properties or properties that offer all-inclusive options. Some properties do offer all-inclusive packages including accommodation, meals, and activities. The destination also received pre-bookings for 11 rooms for the upcoming festive season and the information was shared with the appropriate properties for follow up.
