The development of Tranquility Beach Resort, a member of Hilton’s Curio collection, has continued steadily to date with the eco-friendly luxury resort estimated to officially open by early 2024. The opening date is mainly dependent on the ongoing sales of the Citizenship by Investment Program’s undivided shares.
According to Mr. Ian ‘Sugar George’ Edwards, owner and Chief Executive Officer, the market remained steady despite the COVID-19 pandemic, so sales progressed to fuel ongoing construction. Additionally, construction itself was relatively unaffected as the construction sector was permitted to resume during the pandemic-generated lockdowns.
The amazing location of the resort was selected due to its stunning coastal and marine environment. Located in the center of Dominica’s west coast, the resort allows views of magical sunsets framed by dramatic mountains – a perfect natural setting to locate such a resort.
A talented property developer and architectural designer himself, Mr. Edwards has received recognition for his impressive designs through global accolades. With this architectural background, he designed the remarkable eco-friendly luxury resort with special architectural features such as the avant garde cliff hanger villas and luxe tree houses. The cliff hanger villas are located on a 100-foot cliff overlooking the Caribbean Sea, making them the most unique feature of the resort. Included in the property’s room categories, hotel suites and other villas will also feature contemporary designs with clean lines.
The resort will contain 99 rooms inclusive of villas, tree houses, and suites. The facilities that guests can expect include restaurants, spa, beach club, rooftop lounge, tennis court, and retail boutique. Guest experiences will include watersports such as snorkeling, sailing, fishing, and scuba diving. Horticultural tours will also be available on property.
Mr. Edwards notes that the resort plans to incorporate many authentic Dominican guest experiences as today’s travelers have a keen interest in experiencing what it is like to “live local.” As a result, Dominica’s creole culture, Kalinago heritage, traditional culinary fare, local music, storytelling, handicrafts, local sports, leisure activities and more will be incorporated into Tranquility Beach Resort’s guest experience.
Well known as operating one of the largest hotel portfolios in the world, the Hilton brand has strong brand recognition, good reputation, and efficient marketing programs. Mr. Edwards observes that as a highly reputed and respected global brand, the resort’s affiliation with Hilton adds excellent market profile and will provide a massive boost to high-end hotel operations and marketing.
