Clearing of WNT

The Caribbean’s first long distance walking trail covers 115 miles of some of the best hiking in the Caribbean, spanning the communities of Scott’s Head in the south, to the Cabrits National Park in the north. It takes you through National Parks, local communities, farm lands, forest reserves, coastal areas, and the acclaimed Morne Trois Pitons National Park UNESCO natural World Heritage Site.

Like many other sites on island, Segment Ten of the WNT wasn’t spared from the ravages of Hurricane Maria. The trail needs to be cleared. Clearing of the trail would include, use of chain saws, cutlass, shovel, rake and wheel barrows for clearing, pruning and in some cases planting.

Fort Young Hotel

Flora

Exotic Flora and Fauna

Abounding with lush rain forests, waterfalls, rivers and uninhibited coastlines, the island is a rich mine waiting to be discovered. Luckily, Fort Young Hotel now offers the opportunity to do so—all whilst giving back to the earth in the wake of a land-altering storm.

Here, one can catch a glimpse of the Morne Trois Pitons National Park and Boiling Lake, all while admiring exotic flora, fauna, sulphur springs and hot spas.

With this package, guests will embark upon the challenging 12.8 km hike and do their part by clearing debris along the way so future travelers can, too, enjoy the trail’s bewildering beauty. And, of course, hikers will be rewarded with a soothing bath in clear waters and stunning vistas of the Giraudel Botanic Gardens.
